Our pick: Michael Mischer’s chocolate. Everything is made in the on-site kitchen, so even ducking inside for a quick whiff is sweet. Truffles are made from 65% cacao, single origin criollo, which makes for a rich dream of a shell. Inside, the treats are filled with fresh flavors using local ingredients whenever possible. Mischer’s Grand Avenue shop is the only place his truffles are available.

Also on sale are Mischer’s cookies and fancy chocolate bars. The top seller is milk chocolate with toffee, but the bittersweet bar with cocoa nibs isn’t far behind.
